I started using Ora for Step 2 about two months before taking the exam, before my dedicated period started. I selected all topics and used the standard workload setting. I used Ora daily, watching the suggested videos and working through the qbank questions for that day, which ended up being 40–60 questions daily. When answering questions, I used the AI copilot to work through any follow-up questions I had, whether I got them right or wrong.

I believe Ora was the difference-maker in my studying. I used it alongside both AMBOSS and UWorld, and felt Ora's questions were the closest to the NBME's style in terms of difficulty and writing. The fact that there are multiple versions of each question targeting the same learning objective helped me master the content efficiently. Its spaced repetition is used effectively and trains pattern recognition in a way that's more directly relevant to USMLE questions than Anki does. Because of this, I learned to identify the important details tied to each answer choice, which helped me work through the exam efficiently and accurately. One of the most powerful features is the copilot, which let me think through each question and clear up any confusion about a given detail. Yes, you can just screenshot a question and feed it into ChatGPT, but interacting with a model trained on medical knowledge that's already linked to the question I'm answering makes things easier. Screenshotting and navigating to a separate website is clunky; the copilot removes that step.

Ora took a lot of the stress out of planning my study schedule. Its targeting of weak topics covered high-yield material more effectively than my other resources, which helped me achieve the score I did. It's an incredibly powerful tool that, because it's newer, is still underutilized. It's user-friendly and effective, and it can benefit any student studying for these exams.
